            <p class="para_item">In the Modeling application, choose <b class="uiTerm">Tools</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Vehicle Manufacturing Automation</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Die Engineering</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Pierce Task</b> to open the <b class="uiTerm">Pierce Task</b> dialog box.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the graphics window, select a DIE_TIP feature representing the part to be trimmed (in the tipped position).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the graphics window, select objects that form a closed boundary in the interior of the part to indicate the portions of the part to be pierced in this operation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Pierce Definitions</b> group, select the required <b class="uiTerm">Sizing Method</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Hole type</b> from the list. Specify the required parameters for the selected hole type.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">CAM Direction</b> group, specify the direction vector for the direction of piercing.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the <b class="uiTerm">Cam Type</b> to be used in the pierce operation (<b class="uiTerm">Aerial Cam</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Base Mounted Cam</b>, or <b class="uiTerm">Direct</b>).
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Click <b class="uiTerm">Associative Objects</b> to indicate the data you would like to be associated with the pierce task feature.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Settings</b> group, select the required option from the <b class="uiTerm">Output Points In</b> list.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select or clear the <b class="uiTerm">Finish operation</b> check box as required. This check box is selected by default to indicate that the pierce is a finish pierce.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the <b class="uiTerm">Layout Flange</b> check box if the pierce is to be performed on the flange in the laid out position.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the <b class="uiTerm">Precision</b> type (<b class="uiTerm">Gage</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Critical</b>, or <b class="uiTerm">Standard</b>), depending on the precision desired.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) You can also do the following:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">More Details</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/pierce_task/more_details.gif" border="0"> to enter any additional information about the pierce task.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Object Properties</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/pierce_task/object_properties.gif" border="0"> to open the <b class="uiTerm">Object Properties</b> dialog box, to specify the layer, font, width, and color properties for the created output data. 
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Capture View</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/pierce_task/capture_view.gif" border="0"> to open the <b class="uiTerm">Capture View</b> dialog box, where you can save the viewing orientation with the pierce task feature.
                  </p>
               </li>

         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> to perform the pierce task.
            </p>
