            <p class="para_item">Use the  <b class="uiTerm">Trim Steel Profile</b> selection step to select curve or edges that define the trimming to be performed.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Do one or more of the following, depending on your design: </p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Use the <b class="uiTerm">Start </b> and <b class="uiTerm">End</b> selection step to specify a start point and an end point for a plane that limits the portion of the trim profile to be analyzed.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Use the<b class="uiTerm"> Sheet Metal</b> selection step to select a sheet body that represents the shape of the sheet metal being trimmed. (You do not have to specify this if you are not using scrap cutters.)
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Use the <b class="uiTerm">Scrap Cutters</b> selection step to select or define planes that indicate scrap cutter locations. 
                  </p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Use the <b class="uiTerm">Die Centerline CSYS</b> selection step to define the trim direction. Orientations for shaping the trim direction will be the -Z of the CSYS.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Supply an <b class="uiTerm">Entrance</b> value.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Use the <b class="uiTerm">Calculation Method</b> selection step to specify the type of trim steel distribution you want: <b class="uiTerm">Maximum Length</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Number of Steels</b>. Enter the associated value.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the type of <b class="uiTerm">Joint Relief </b>you want to have at the start and end of the trim profile.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Supply a  <b class="uiTerm">Scrap Cutter Entrance</b> value.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Supply  <b class="uiTerm">Lower Scrap Cutter Clearance</b> values.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Do one or more of the following, depending on your design: </p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Open the  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('diedesign/trim_steel_dialog.html');return(false);">Trim Steel Parameters</a> dialog box to set trim steel parameters.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Open the<b class="uiTerm"> Lower Scrap Cutter Parameters</b> dialog box to set lower scrap cutter parameters. See  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('diedesign/sct_scrap_cut_other.html');return(false);">Lower Scrap Cutter - Other Parameters</a> for details. 
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Open the  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('diedesign/trim_stl_asst_params.html');return(false);">Trim Steel Assistant Parameters</a> dialog box to set controlling parameters for the automatic calculation of trim steel locations. 
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Use <b class="uiTerm">Switch Trim Side</b> if you want to trim on the opposite side of the trim profile.
                  </p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Use <b class="uiTerm">Calculate Steel Planes</b> to preview the trim steels that will be created. Make any manual modifications you want.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Use <b class="uiTerm">Move All Scrap Cutters to Adjacent Steel</b> to change the default scrap cutter locations.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Use the <b class="uiTerm">Calculate Dowel and Bolt Holes</b> button to create points for defining dowel holes and bolt holes. Make any manual modifications you want.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> to create the DIE_TRIM_STEEL features and, if applicable, the DIE_LOWER_SCRAP_CUTTER features.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">The trim steel feature and lower scrap cutter features are created in the current work part, if a part attribute does not exist in a part file in the current subassembly structure. The features are created in the part file if the part attribute exists,  with the title specified by the <b class="uiTerm">Creation Part Attribute Title/Reference Set Name</b> customer default for the respective die component. If a reference set exists with this name in that part file, then the trim steel feature and lower scrap cutter features are added to that reference set. 
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">If the <b class="uiTerm">Create Component</b> customer default is selected, then a new part file is created and added to the work part or the part file found as a component, and each trim steel or flange steel is created in this new part file. 
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">The name of the new part file is the parent part file name with a suffix of an underscore and an incremented number (_1, _2, _3 &hellip;). The next unused number is used, filling in available gaps, based on names already in the assembly. If a file in the current subassembly has a part attribute title specified by <b class="uiTerm">Start Part Attribute Title</b>, then input data is linked from the part file it is in, first to this part file, and then to the final file.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">The following figure shows the result when the <b class="uiTerm">Create Component </b>customer default is not selected.
