After you select a trim task, the Trim Steel Profile, Sheet Metal, and Scrap Cutters selection steps are activated, with the input determined from the selected trim task. Geometry links are created as required. Geometry links are created as required, from the part file where the DOL resides to the part file in which the trim steel is created. If part file in the assembly structure has an attribute with a title specified by the <b class="uiTerm">DIE_DesignStartPart</b> customer default, then the geometry links are created from the part file where the DOL resides to the part file in the assembly structure, and then to the part file in which the trim steel is created. The Calculate Steel Planes step is also activated.
               </p><a name="trim_steel_trim_steel_assist_trim_steel_prof"></a><p class="para_td"><img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/trim_steel_assistant/trim_profile.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Trim Steel Profile</b> - Lets you select curves, edges or faces to define the shape of the trim being performed. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/trim_steel_assistant/start.gif" border="0"> - <b class="uiTerm">Start</b> (Optional) Lets you specify a start point for a plane that limits the portion of the trim profile to be analyzed. If the plane intersects the profile more than once, the intersection point closest to the plane origin is chosen. You typically limit the trim profile to areas with the same trim direction. Select <b class="uiTerm">Plane Subfunction</b> to supply a start point. 
               </p><a name="trim_steel_trim_steel_assist_start"></a><p class="para_td"><img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/trim_steel_assistant/end.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">End</b> - (Optional) Lets you specify an end point for a plane that limits the portion of the trim profile to be analyzed. If the plane intersects the profile more than once, the intersection point closest to the plane origin is chosen. Select <b class="uiTerm">Plane Subfunction</b> to supply an end point.

If you are not requesting scrap cutters, you do not need to supply this. 
               </p><a name="trim_steel_trim_steel_assist_end"></a><p class="para_td"><img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/trim_steel_assistant/scrap_cutters.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Scrap Cutters</b>- (Optional) Lets you specify planes or curves that define the location and orientation of desired scrap cutters.

               <p class="para_td"><img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/trim_steel_assistant/die_centerline_csys.gif" border="0"> - <b class="uiTerm">Die Centerline CSYS</b> (Optional) Lets you specify a CSYS to define the center of the die. If you do not specify one, absolute origin and directions are used. If a CSYS exists in the work part, with an attribute title specified by the <b class="uiTerm">Trim Direction Attribute Title</b> customer default, then this CSYS is selected as the default.
               </p>
