      </table><br><p class="para_topic">This option lets you specify the cross sections that define the rotor throat. You enter this dialog from the main dialog by double clicking the <b class="uiTerm">Throat Definition</b> node in the tree list. This dialog varies depending on the section type selected. 
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">An Arc segment has a <b class="uiTerm">Radius</b> (length from the center  to the arc), a<b class="uiTerm"> Center</b> (length from the arc to the center), and an <b class="uiTerm">End Angle</b> (angle from start point). Changing the <b class="uiTerm">Radius</b> leaves the <b class="uiTerm">Center</b> fixed and increases the size of the arc. Changing the <b class="uiTerm">Center</b> leaves the start location (point at zero degrees on the arc) fixed and moves the enter along the reference axis (the axis defined from the center to the start point), some of which may, or may not, be displayed for the given section.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">A line segment has a <b class="uiTerm">Start Length</b> (length from the start to the end of the line), a <b class="uiTerm">Start Angle</b> (angle derived from a reference direction and the line direction: start to end), an <b class="uiTerm">Offset</b> (offset perpendicular from a location), an <b class="uiTerm">End Angle</b> (angle derived from a reference direction and the line direction: end to start), and an <b class="uiTerm">End Length</b> (length from the end to the start of the line), some of which may, or may not, be displayed for the given section.

               <p class="para_td"><img align="bottom" src="graphics/throat_section_ico.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Section </b>- Lets you specify the point along the centerline where the section should be defined. The centerline is a temporary line generated for the specific rotor solid. The <b class="uiTerm">Section Location</b> value is stored as a distance from the start of the centerline. Each segment of the section has a set of parameters that may or may not be active. Depending on the relative direction of the measurement, these parameters may be negative or positive.

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Section Location</b> -  Point location related to the centerline. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"> <b class="uiTerm">Start Length</b> &ndash; Length of the line segment tangential to end of the flange sheet metal. Start point remains fixed. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Start Length 1 </b>&ndash; Length of the line segment perpendicular to the tangential. This is the step for the <b class="uiTerm">Wipe Flange</b>. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Start Length 2</b> &ndash; Length of the line segment tangential to end of the flange sheet metal to the top radius of the back wall.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Center</b> &ndash; Radius of the arc at the top wall. Allows the arc radius to be changed while keeping the center of the arc fixed. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Offset 4</b> &ndash; Perpendicular distance from the throat CSYS to the line segment along the back wall. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Radius 5</b> - Radius length of bottom arc. Can adjust the radius of the related arc. Start point and arc center point remain fixed. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Offset 6</b> &ndash; Perpendicular distance from the <b class="uiTerm">Bend Profile</b> to the line segment along the wear plate surface. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">Note: These are the inputs for the <b class="uiTerm">Wipe Flange</b> section. Similar inputs are available for the <b class="uiTerm">Restrike Flange</b>. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Wipe</b> cross section is tangential at the end of the flange and then may have a perpendicular step. It then continues to the back of the throat, which is perpendicular to the working direction of the flange steel. The base is also in line with the steel. The step may be oriented in either direction, perpendicular to the flange direction. Ideally, both radii at the back of the throat should be equal, but are not required to be.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Restrike</b> cross section is tangential at the end of the flange and then takes a perpendicular turn into the throat. It then continues to the back of the throat, which is perpendicular to the working direction of the flange steel. The base is also in line with the steel. Ideally, both radii at the back of the throat should be equal, but are not required to be.
