      </table><br><p class="para_topic">This dialog lets you define the<b class="uiTerm"> Pierce Holes</b> and the intended path for the slug to exit. You access this dialog from the Tree List in the main component dialog.
      </p>

      <p class="para_topic">Pierce hole development depends on the type of hole you select: <b class="uiTerm">Circular</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Rectangular</b>, or <b class="uiTerm">Curve Defined Shape</b>. 
      </p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The development of the hole is along the initial direction, to the<b class="uiTerm"> Hole Depth</b> (H). At this depth, the <b class="uiTerm">Slug Hole</b> is started and developed all the way through the steel. The <b class="uiTerm">Slug Hole</b> profile or the <b class="uiTerm">Slug Hole</b> diameter is offset by <b class="uiTerm">Die Clearance</b>. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If you select a <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Location</b> or a <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Shape</b> on the base plane, a hole of specified <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Depth</b> (BH) is developed from the base to the sheet metal along the <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Direction</b>. If you don't select a profile for this hole, its diameter (E) is equal to the product of the <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Factor</b> (F) and the <b class="uiTerm">Slug Hole</b> diameter (C). This hole is translated along the normal (N) to the plane determined as follows: The plane passes through the <b class="uiTerm">Pierce Hole Location</b>, whose normal is the cross product of the<b class="uiTerm"> Breaker Hole Direction</b> and the<b class="uiTerm"> Pierce Hole Direction</b>. The translation distance is calculated as (C/2) (1&ndash; F) + 1. This distance can be overwritten by specifying <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Offset</b>. Note that this translation distance can be negative, in which case the translation is opposite to the normal (N).  
            </p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">You can create a <b class="uiTerm">Slug Hole</b> common to several holes. You can create a <b class="uiTerm">Circular Slug Hole</b>, specify a<b class="uiTerm"> Slug Hole</b> profile, or let the system figure out the best profile that rubber bands the profiles selected to create a <b class="uiTerm">Common Slug Hole</b>. If you don't combine the holes to create a <b class="uiTerm">Common Slug Hole</b>, you can offset the hole profile to get the <b class="uiTerm">Slug Hole Shape</b> or you can create a <b class="uiTerm">Circular Slug Hole</b>.

Lets you select locations for the <b class="uiTerm">Pierce Holes</b>. If the type is <b class="uiTerm">Rectangular</b>, you must choose a CSYS to establish the Length (x) and Width (y). If the type is <b class="uiTerm">Curve Defined Shape</b>, this step isn't available. The point is always projected to the sheet body, either along the base normal (of the application), the Z axis of the CSYS, or the direction of a Datum Axis or vector.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_td"><img align="bottom" src="graphics/pierce_hole_shape_ico.gif" border="0"><b class="uiTerm">Pierce Holes Shape</b> &mdash; Lets you select a profile that defines the outline of the Pierce Hole. You can select multiple closed profiles. If type is <b class="uiTerm">Circular</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Rectangular</b>, this step isn't available.

                  <p class="para_td"><img align="bottom" src="graphics/pierc_hole_direction_ico.gif" border="0"><b class="uiTerm">Pierce Holes Direction</b> &mdash; (Optional) Lets you specify the initial direction that the <b class="uiTerm">Pierce Hole</b> travels. If you don't select this option, the direction is assumed to be &ndash;z.

For non-circular <b class="uiTerm">Common Slug Holes</b>, the <b class="uiTerm">Slug Hole Offset</b> value is used to offset the curve that rubber bands the selected hole profiles.

The normal (N) of the plane is the vector perpendicular to the <b class="uiTerm">Pierce Hole Direction</b> and the <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Direction</b>.  In other words, it's the cross product of the <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Direction</b> and the <b class="uiTerm">Pierce Hole Direction</b>. The translation is opposite to this normal if the <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Offset</b> value is negative.

            <p class="para_item">Select point locations or closed profiles for the shapes of the pierce holes.</p>

            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Select a <b class="uiTerm">Direction</b> for the pierce hole. 
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Select a shape for the slug hole.  If you don't specify a shape, the <b class="uiTerm">Slug Hole Shape </b>is the curve that rubber bands the shapes selected for the pierce holes. You can select the <b class="uiTerm">Circular Slug Hole</b> option button to specify a circular shape that circumscribes the selected pierce hole shapes. 
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Specify a <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole Location</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Shape</b>. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Specify a direction for the breaker hole. The default direction is the base normal. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the <b class="uiTerm">Breaker Hole</b> parameters. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> to accept settings and return to the main dialog.
