      <p class="para_topic">Configuring a die base is just like designing a progressive die without the insert group.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Load die base</div>
      <p class="para_division">The new custom die base must be based on an existing one. PDW provides the following pre-configured die bases: Metric: DB_UNIVERSAL1, DB_UNIVERSAL2, DB_UNIVERSAL3, STRACK, SUPERIOR; English: DB_UNIVERSAL1, DB_UNIVERSAL2, DB_UNIVERSAL3, SUPERIOR. </p>

            <p class="para_item">First, use the project initialization module to create a project. The sheet metal part is irrelevant.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Then load the die base. Because it is a configuration, the length and width are not important. If you want to split, consider selecting a large index: 10020(1000X200) or 15020(1500X200).</p>

      <div class="title_division">Example expressions</div>
      <p class="para_division">The &lt;PDW_DB&gt; part uses expressions during the following steps. These expressions are also used in the insert group library part, so there are some rules you must follow in naming the expressions. For example, the die plate height is DP_h and the part name is DP. </p>
      <p class="para_division">You can use the expression file %PDWIZARD%/prodiebase\db_new_exp.exp to support short strings, such as for the distance between PP and DP in closed status:</p>

            <p class="para_item">On the Die Base Management dialog box, click the Add/Edit Component button to display the Edit Diebase Components dialog box.  It will display only the catalogs specified by the STANDARD_LIST keyword line in the die base data file. </p>

                              <p class="para_item">Check the parent &nbsp;option menu when adding standard parts. In the current system, the parts under node &lt;PDW_SUB&gt; will be copied when splitting a dieframe. </p>

You can also select tt_ds::TOP to get the same position, but if you want to split the die frame later and want to maintain the association between screws and plates, you must select the face of BBP, because the DS plate does not get split.</p>

You can add your own directory by appending it, separated by a comma, to the MW_OTHER_BITMAP line under the <b class="uiTerm">Progressive Die Wizard Customer Defaults</b> option in the <b class="uiTerm">NX Customer Defaults</b> utility under the .
