      <p class="para_topic">The following preconditions must be met to create <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/compound_welds.html');return(false);">compound welds</a>:
      </p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The outer weld must be a fillet Weld. The inner weld must be a Groove weld of the following types: </p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Square Butt</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Bevel</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">J </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Flared Bevel </p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The outer weld can have a specified weld finish but the inner weld cannot (Contour Type - None). </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Both the inner welds and the outer welds must be continuous welds. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">All the welds in one compound weld should have at least one common connected part. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The same weld cannot be placed both on Side 1 and Side 2 of a compound weld.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Compound welds of only the following five types can be created:</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
