            <p class="para_item">In the Modeling application, select <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Welding</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Weld Utilities</b>. The <b class="uiTerm">Weld Utilities</b> dialog box appears.

            <p class="para_item">Select the <b class="uiTerm">Locate Retained Welds</b> check box.

      <p class="para_division">It is common for components to be swapped in and out of an assembly as product data matures or engineering desires to test a new design. You should run the Locate Retained Welds function whenever their working assembly has been modified. This provides an indication of all the spot-welds that no longer have valid connected parts information. </p>
      <p class="para_division">By using <b class="uiTerm">Edit</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Feature</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Edit Parameters</b> and selecting the retained weld feature, you can then either reassociate the spots to faces on the new component, select new connected part geometry, in the case of fixed welds, or delete the welds altogether.
