      <div class="title_topic3" id="xps10_pagetitle">Defining Parting Lines and Cavity and Core Regions</div>

      <p class="para_topic">Mold Wizard provides two methods for defining parting lines and the cavity and core regions:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The Parting Line Boundary method (the original method)</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The Face Color method (a new method)</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">Only one of the two methods may be used on a single cavity and core set, that is, when you are using the parting line method, the face color method functions may not be used, and visa versa. The functions used by both of the parting line and region methods are all available on the <b class="uiTerm">Parting Manager</b> dialog box.  
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Unsew</div>
      <p class="para_division">When you create the cavity and core regions, the software implements the Unsew feature. When you edit the cavity or core region, the Unsew feature automatically moves faces from one to the other. When you click <b class="uiTerm">Extract Regions and Parting Lines</b> and remove faces from either the cavity or core region, Unsew moves them to the other region with no further input from you. 
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">The Parting Line Method</div>
      <p class="para_division">To define parting lines and cavity and core regions using the Parting Line method, do the following:</p>
      <div class="title_division">Step 1: Set the face colors as a visual reference:</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the Design Regions button.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">When the MPV Initialization dialog appears, click OK.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the Face page.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the Set Color of All Faces button.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Assign colors to other faces on cavity or core side.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Step 2: &nbsp;Patch the Internal Openings</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If the product has internal openings, click the Create/Delete Patch Surface button.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To examine the resulting patches, click the Auto Patch button. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Use the Delete Patch function to delete any undesirable patches.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Use Mold Tools and NX Modeling functions to create any remaining required patches.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Use the Add Existing Surfaces button to include parting surfaces created with NX Modeling functions.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Step 3: Select the parting lines</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To select the parting lines, use the Auto Search Parting Lines or Traverse Loop functions. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Define the guide lines at ends of parting segments, transition objects and points. </p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Step 4: Extract Regions</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the Extract Regions and Parting Lines button.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From the Regions and Lines dialog box, click the Boundary Regions toggle, and then click OK.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From the Extract Regions dialog confirm that the Cavity Faces and Core Faces count equals the Total Faces. If not, examine and edit the boundaries. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click OK.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">You can now start defining the parting surfaces and creating cavities and cores.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">The Face Color Method</div>
      <p class="para_division">To define parting lines and cavity and core regions using the Face Color method, do the following:</p>
      <div class="title_division">Step 1: Design the regions by face color</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the Create/Edit Parting Segments button.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Define guide lines at end of parting line segments..</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From the Region page click Set Regions Color.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Use the Assign to Cavity/Core Region functions to complete the face color assignment.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Step 2: Extract Parting Lines and Regions</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the Extract Regions and Parting Lines button.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Check the MPV Regions and Extract Parting Lines toggles.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click OK.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Step 3: Define the transition objects and points </div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the Edit Parting Lines button.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Define the transition objects and points.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">You can now start defining the parting surfaces and creating cavities and cores.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
