      <p class="para_topic">Runners are channels through which plastic flows from the sprue to the gates to fill a mold cavity.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Runners are designed by defining:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">A path for the runner to follow</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">A cross-section shape for the channel along the path</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">The size and shape of the section may change at various points along the runner channel.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The Runner function provides tools for creating and editing paths and cross sections of runners. The runner channels are created by sweeping the cross section along the guide strings. The channels are created in a single part file and are subtracted from the core and cavity after the design is confirmed.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Runners are fully associative with their pockets. When you change the size or position, the pocket changes with it and when you remove a runner, the pocket is deleted. A change to the runner cross-section shape deletes the pocket.</p>

      <p class="para_division">The runner design process has three design steps:</p>

         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Projection onto parting surfaces</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Creation of runner channels</p>
         </li>
