The Top_Cover_2 product is used as an example to show the functions of the Runner module.

First, create a path for the runner channel. If you already have created the gates, you can use a point on the gate as the point for a guide string shape. In the example, the center of the submarine gate is used to define the two diagonal points for the predefined guide string shape. The Curves through Points method is used.

If the guide string is not in the correct direction, you can rotate it by clicking Change to another direction. When it has the direction you need, click Back to go back to the Runner Design menu.

Next, use this guide string to create the runner channels by clicking on the Create Runner Channel button in Design Steps of the Runner Design dialog box.

For this example, we chose a parabolic cross section with the default settings and clicked Apply.

Because the channels are too big for the gates, we need to change the size of the sub-channels to a smaller size. Therefore, deselect the main channel first (by using the shift key) and change the values to A=6 and R=2.5.

Because the channel doesn't fit correctly for the gates, we need to create it in the cavity side instead of the core side. Change the Runner Location to Cavity and click Apply. After that, select the main channel and change this to Cavity, too and click Apply. The result is shown below.

If you want to have a circular channel for the sub-channels, you just need to select these channels and choose the circular cross section and apply this selection. The dimensions of the channel are set to default values.

If you don't want a cold slug on the main runner, set the Cold Slug Position to None.

If you want to delete the whole runner you created, go to the guide string option you used (in this example, Curves through Points), select the guide string, and press the Delete button.
