      <p class="para_topic">Mold Wizard can be used on different platforms. If you are working on a Microsoft Windows platform you can use either Xess or Microsoft Excel for your spreadsheet format. If you have a network that includes both Microsoft Windows and UNIX platforms, keep the database consistent with UNIX platforms. The Microsoft Windows systems may use either Microsoft Excel or Xess database files, while UNIX systems must use the Xess format.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">If you have Microsoft Windows and UNIX platforms on the same network and you choose to use Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Excel to edit the database files, it's necessary to convert the spreadsheets into the other format to keep both databases synchronized.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Maximum Spreadsheet Width</div>
      <p class="para_division">The maximum spreadsheet width (in columns) is 78. Do not use more than 78 columns in your data spreadsheet.</p>
      <div class="title_division">How to Import an XESS spreadsheet into Microsoft Excel</div>
      <p class="para_division">There are a few steps you have to follow in order to make the conversion between Xess and Microsoft Excel possible.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Open the moldwizard_menu.xlb file by double-clicking it. You can find this file in the Mold Wizard directory:</p>
            <p class="para_item">&nbsp;...\moldwizard\templates\moldwizard_menu.xlb.</p>
            <p class="para_item">This displays Import From Xess and Export to Xess buttons within the Microsoft Excel toolbar.</p>

                        <p class="para_note_body">NOTE: Sometimes the buttons disappear when closing down Microsoft Excel. When this happens, you have to create the buttons yourself. Once you have done that, the menu buttons always come up when opening Microsoft Excel.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Copy the moldwizard_add_in.xla file located in the Mold Wizard directory, into your C:/program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\XLstart directory. This file installs the conversion program necessary to convert Xess files into Microsoft Excel files.</p>

            <p class="para_item">When you want to edit the data base or registry files in Mold Wizard, different events occur depending on whether it's the first time you are loading data:</p>
            <p class="para_item">If it's the first time you're loading the data, an empty Microsoft Excel file corresponding to your Xess data file is opened in the same directory, but with a different extension name.</p>
            <p class="para_item">If it's not first time you're loading the data, the previous Microsoft Excel data is loaded. Go to step 5.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Press Import from Xess once and the data is imported into the Microsoft Excel format.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Modify the data as you wish to in Microsoft Excel, then click Export to Xess to export the Microsoft Excel data to Xess format.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Enabling the Conversion Macros to Run from Buttons in Excel</div>
      <p class="para_division">To enable the conversion macros to run from Import/Export buttons in Excel, do the following:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Open the file, Moldwizard/templates/moldwizard_menu.xlb.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Place the cursor in the toolbar area and click MB3 (the right mouse button).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Close the spreadsheet.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_division">The next time a moldbase or standard parts database spreadsheet is opened, you will the Import/Export buttons on the toolbar.</p>
