      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The groove weld is a common weld used throughout manufacturing to join butted plates. Groove welds can have many shapes, such as square butt, J groove, or V groove.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can create a groove weld on simple faces and on complex faces, such as contoured or uneven faces. You can create linear groove welds (constant or multi-segmented) and closed-loop welds around a tube or cylinder.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Groove welds can bridge gaps along their path.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can, optionally, prepare edges before creating a groove weld.</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">For prepared edges, a groove weld follows the shape of the prepared edges, filling up the space between them.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">For unprepared edges, the <b class="uiTerm">Groove</b> weld function creates a construction solid, and subtracts the weld from the bodies being welded.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Welding</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Groove</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
