      <p class="para_topic">On Windows, the View Manager provides the following capabilities for die components:</p>

      <div class="title_division">View Manager Dialog</div>
      <p class="para_division">The View Manager dialog contains a scrollable window for viewing the tree structure of the part, and buttons and options for controlling the display of the tree.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Window</div>
      <p class="para_division">The scrollable window contains the tree structure of the part. The columns control the display of each die feature (e.g., cavity, core, side A).</p>

      </table><br><div class="title_division">Setting Up the Defaults for View Manager</div>
      <p class="para_division">The variable &quot;MW_View_Name_Set&quot; variable controls the operation of the Customized Name column. This variable is accessed under the <b class="uiTerm">Progressive Die Wizard Customer Defaults</b> option in the <b class="uiTerm">NX Customer Defaults </b>utility. For more information, see <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('pdw/pdw_defaults.html');return(false);">Setting Defaults and Preferencess.</a></p>
      <div class="title_division">Part Attribute Name</div>
      <p class="para_division">When the MW_View_Name_Set option is set to 0, the names shown in the Customized Name column display the value of the part attribute PDW_COMPONENT_NAME for that component. For example, a die component that is a screw would contain the part attribute PDW_COMPONENT_NAME=SCREW. The column would display &quot;SCREW.&quot;</p>
      <div class="title_division">Customized Name</div>
      <p class="para_division">When the MW_View_Name_Set option is set to 1, the names shown in the Customized Name column display a customizable name that is specified in an XML file.  reads the value of the part attribute MW_COMPONENT_TYPE, then changes the name displayed in accordance with the format contained in the XML file &quot;pdw_view.xml.&quot; This file is located in the directory .../pdiewizard\configuration\xml_files.</p>
      <div class="title_division">XML File</div>
      <p class="para_division">The XML file determines the Customized Name display in the View Manager dialog. The following are conventions and items in the XML file.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Comments</div>
      <p class="para_division">A &quot;!--&quot; combination signifies a comment line that is not read by the function.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Line Limits</div>
      <p class="para_division">Each line begins with a &quot;&lt;&quot; symbol and ends with a &quot;&gt;&quot; symbol.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Holders</div>
      <p class="para_division">Holders are displayed in View Manager-like assembly files (which they usually are) and represent a group of component types. For example, the &quot;A side&quot; of &nbsp;a die and its subcomponents would be organized under a holder.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Holders may contain other holders. Also, holders may not correspond to an actual component in the die. In that case, the holder is used to organize other holders and nodes in View Manager.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Nodes</div>
      <p class="para_division">Nodes are displayed in View Manager-like component files and represent a group of components of a single type. For example, all &quot;screws&quot; could be displayed as a node.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The display of holders and nodes in View Manager is defined by the following XML code (some details have been excluded for clarity):</p>

      </table><br><div class="title_division">Component Identification</div>
      <p class="para_division">The identification of components is established by part attributes or part attributes and value pairs contained in those components. A component can be identified by a part attribute it contains. For example, the top_side of a diebase could contain and be identified by the part attribute MW_SIDE =TOP (or any value).</p>
      <p class="para_division">Alternatively, a component can be identified by a part attribute and value pair to provide a custom name. For example, the a_side of a diebase could contain and be identified by the part attribute and value pair MW_SIDE=TOP.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The XML format for holder-defining code or node -defining code is different depending on whether the part attribute or the part attribute and value part method is used to identify components.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Part Attribute Example</div>
      <p class="para_division">For example, a node is displayed in View Manager as &quot;Standard Parts&quot; and all components in the die that contain the part attribute UM_STANDARD_PART will be managed by the &quot;Standard Parts&quot; node.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Part Attribute and Value Pair Example (Custom Name)</div>
      <p class="para_division">For example, a node is displayed in View Manager as &quot;Dowel Pins&quot; and all components in the die that contain the part attribute PDW_COMPONENT_NAME with the value &quot;DOWEL&quot; will be managed by the &quot;Dowel Pin&quot; node.</p>
