      <p class="para_division">Using <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Welding</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Groove</b>, you can insert groove welds between specified sets of edges/faces from two bodies, and define parameters for the groove.

      <p class="para_division">To access the <b class="uiTerm">Groove Weld</b> dialog box in the insert mode:

      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Groove Weld</b> dialog box consists of two tab pages: <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/arc_groove.html#arc_arc_groove_agr_crosec');return(false);">Cross Section</a> and <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/arc_groove.html#arc_arc_groove_agr_boundary');return(false);">Boundary</a>. 
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">In the Cross Section page, you can specify the parameters required to create the weld, its attributes and characteristics. Here, you can also view the type of weld you are creating. The image in the dialog changes according to the Weld Type, Contour and other parameters you select.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Allows you to specify whether a weld is to be created on two sides or only on one side. Turn this toggle ON to create the weld on both sides.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Edge Prepared</p>

               <p class="para_td">Allows you to create a groove weld with edge prepared geometry. You can select this option if the desired edge preparation has already been modeled. When you turn this toggle ON, the function compensates for the prepared edge provided you input the correct cross section parameters to define the weld's shape.</p>

               <p class="para_td">For Square Butt Groove Weld, the root opening value cannot be zero. For other weld types the value can be zero or greater than zero.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Set Ends: Lets you create the groove weld between two selected points. When you select this option and click Apply or OK, the Point Constructor dialog opens. You are cued to set or pick start and end points for the weld. Select two points. The groove weld is created between the Set Points. </p>

               <p class="para_td">Skip: Select this option to create skip groove welds between specified extents (Entire Length or Set ends). Specify the skip weld parameters using the Spacing, Number of Welds and Segment Length toggles and fields.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Number of Welds: Allows you to specify the number of groove welds. The default value for this field is 2. This toggle is turned ON by default.</p>
               <p class="para_td">Segment Length: Allows you to specify the Segment Length for the Skip method. This toggle is turned ON by default.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Click the Next button <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_next.gif" border="0"> and select the edge(s)/a face for the second set. You can use the Previous button  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_prev.gif" border="0"> to modify the face(s) selected for the first set.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Specify the parameters for the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/arc_groove.html#arc_arc_groove_agr_dlg');return(false);">Groove Weld</a> in the Cross Section and Boundary tab pages.

            <p class="para_item">Choose <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_ok.gif" border="0"> to create the groove weld and exit the dialog. Choose  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_apply.gif" border="0"> to create the weld and keep the dialog open.

      <p class="para_division">The groove weld is created.</p>

            <p class="para_item">On the Edit&rarr;Feature&rarr;Parameters dialog, or on the Model Navigation Tool, double click on the groove weld to edit. The Groove Weld dialog appears in the Edit mode.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Edit the parameters you want to modify.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">When the options are set correctly, choose  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_ok.gif" border="0">.
