Spot weld points imported from other CAD systems lose their connected part information and remain in a retained state. Retained state can also exist on an NX spot weld feature whenever the linkage of the connected faces no longer exists. The weld point retains the connected part information, but loses the location within the assembly. Connected Face Finder allows you to quickly find all of the faces connected to the weld points and resolve their associations.

After you select the weld points you want to query, choose Apply on the Connected Face Finder dialog box to run the search for the associated faces. If you want to run the program against all weld points, select All Weld Points on the dialog box (this turns off your ability to select weld points interactively.) The search results are displayed in the dialog in tree format, where each point that you selected is represented by a node showing all the geometry information associated with that point .

After running Connected Face Finder, you can perform operations on the information in the results tree within the dialog; for example, there are several sort options to choose. To access the menus for these operations, right-click a node in the tree, and select the desired options from the node's shortcut menu.
