      <p class="para_topic">This checking mechanism will look at each spot weld in the current work part and determine if the connected part information stored with the weld point is still valid. The mechanism works with both associative and fixed spot-welds.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">This function is for pre-NX 5 weld points only. Retained status is automatically derived for NX 5 (and later versions) weld points.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">If a spot weld's connected part cannot be found in the loaded assembly, the system highlights the weld spot in the retained spot color and attaches an attribute to the spot, indicating it is now in a retained state.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">This function is most helpful in identifying spot welds that may no longer be valid due to a swapping of the original component that was used in the creation of this spot weld. It lets you know which spot welds in a given work part need attention.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Where do I find it?</div>
      <p class="para_division">Access the file selection dialog on the Modeling application by going to:</p>
      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Welding</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Weld Utilities</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Locate Retained Welds</b></p>
      <p class="para_division">Or</p>
      <p class="para_division">Select the <b class="uiTerm">Weld Utility</b> button <img align="bottom" src="graphics/weld_tools_ic.gif" border="0"> on the <b class="uiTerm">Weld Assistant</b> toolbar.
