      <p class="para_topic">When you create or edit a feature that supports Selection Intent, face and curve rules are displayed on the Selection Bar. Use these rules to specify collections of objects that support your design intent. </p>

                  <p class="para_td">When the feature requires a collection of faces, <b class="uiTerm">Face Rule</b> options are available. The list displays the face selection rules that are applicable to the feature you are creating.

                  <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Type Filter</b> on the Selection Bar changes to <b class="uiTerm">Face</b>, and the cursor changes to one denoting face collection.

                  <p class="para_td">Lets you single-select one or more faces. No rule is applied to a collection of singly-selected faces, and it is basically a simple list of objects without intent. You can enhance a collection of singly-selected faces by right-clicking one of the faces and choosing another rule.</p>

                  <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Region Faces</b></p>
               </td>

                  <p class="para_td">Lets you specify a region of faces. On first selecting this rule, the cursor changes to Face Collecting, and you must select a single seed face. The cursor then changes to Region Specification and the rule to <b class="uiTerm">Single Face</b>. You must specify the boundary faces. If needed, you can change the rule to meet your selection needs.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_td">You can select one or more boundary faces for the region. You can use the middle mouse button to stop boundary input and complete the collection. Using the middle mouse button without selecting any bounding faces results in only the single seed face being selected, as if you had used the <b class="uiTerm">Single Face</b> rule.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_td">If you do not specify boundary faces, NX collects all the tangent faces based on the seed face (as if you had used the <b class="uiTerm">Add Tangent Faces</b> rule). Otherwise, the collected tangent faces are limited by the selected boundary faces.

                  <p class="para_td">Lets you select a single face that acts as the seed for a collection of smoothly connected faces.</p>

                  </p>

                  <p class="para_td">Lets you specify a tangent region of faces. You must select a seed face and then one or more boundary faces, although with this rule, the boundary faces are optional.</p>
                  <p class="para_td">On first choosing this rule, the cursor changes to Face Collection, and you must select a single seed face. The cursor then changes to Boundary Specification and the rule to <b class="uiTerm">Single Face</b>. If needed, you can change the rule to meet your selection needs.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_td">You can optionally select one or more boundary faces for the region. You can use the middle mouse button to stop boundary input and complete the collection. If you specify no boundary faces, NX collects all the tangent faces based on the seed face (as if you had used the <b class="uiTerm">Add Tangent Faces</b> rule). Otherwise, the collected tangent faces are limited by the selected boundary faces.
                  </p>

                  <p class="para_td">Note that no rule is applied if the chained curves are nonassociative. The curve intent does not attempt to grow or shrink the chain if curves are added or no longer form a single chain after an edit to the model.</p>

NX does not discard nonassociative curves that are no longer tangent after an edit.</p>

                  <p class="para_td">For example, while creating an <b class="uiTerm">Extrude</b> feature, the curve rule can be <b class="uiTerm">All Curves of Feature</b> if you select a curve, or <b class="uiTerm">Single</b> if you select an edge.

                  <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Stop at Intersection</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Follow Fillet</b>, and <b class="uiTerm">Chain within Feature</b> options are extensions of the curve and edge intent rule, which enhances the building of sections.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_td">You can use these options to collect curves and edges for features such as <b class="uiTerm">Extrude</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Revolve</b>, and <b class="uiTerm">Sweep Along Guide</b>, for the purpose of section building. These options are not available for features that do not collect curves or edges for sections, such as <b class="uiTerm">Edge Blend</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Chamfer</b>.

When you select a chain, all other curves and edges visible in the selection view are checked for intersections with the current chain. At each of the intersection points (that is, where two or more objects meet at a point, either interior or at an end point) the system bounds the chain.</p>

                  <p class="para_td">Opens a dialog box where you can add special building parameters for the selected rule. The availability of some options depends on which rules are displayed in the toolbar pull-down lists. You can specify the following options:</p>

                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Chain Between</b></p>
                        <p class="para_item">Select this option to control the number of objects you select for chaining.</p>
                        <p class="para_item">When you select this check box, chaining is a two selection operation, where you select the start and end of the chain before the chain is collected. When you clear this check box, chaining is a single selection operation: you select a seed object and all objects that meet the current intent rule are collected.</p>
                        <p class="para_item">This option is mutually exclusive of the <b class="uiTerm">Stop at Intersection</b> option. If you select one, the other is automatically deselected.
                        </p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Tangent Angle (Degrees)</b></p>
                        <p class="para_item">Lets you type a real number for the highest possible value you want to specify as tangent degrees.</p>
