Smart rounding allows you to achieve the exact value you want without always having to type it in. For example, if want to move the cursor a distance of 7.5 inches, without rounding, it would be difficult to do so other than typing in the exact value.

The system rounds values to a level of precision that reflects a small mouse movement. Because of this, the view scale directly impacts the precision. For example, the system might round to .05 at one view, but when you zoom in, it rounds to more precision, such as .005. Rounding may also be effected by other factors such as the angle off of the screen along with whatever direct manipulation is being performed.

Rounding Occurs When Not Otherwise Constrained

The system only rounds values if they are not constrained in any other way, such as alignment to existing geometry or point snapping. In these cases, rounding would incorrectly override the values you would expect to see.

Angles (Degrees)
