      <hr noshade="true"><a name="ndxgenid_roadmap392"></a><a name="ndxgenid_roadmap393"></a><a name="ndxgenid_roadmap394"></a><p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Copy</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Paste</b> commands in the <b class="uiTerm">Edit</b> menu copy features within a .prt file or between files.

      <p class="para_topic">When you paste a feature, the <b class="uiTerm">Expression Transfer Mode</b> determines the associativity between the expressions in the pasted feature and the original copied feature. The options are:
      </p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">New</b></p>
            <p class="para_item">With this option, no associativity is created.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Link to Original</b></p>
            <p class="para_item">With this option, parameters in the new feature will be linked by equations to the original feature parameters. For example, &ldquo;p20=p10.&rdquo;</p>
            <p class="para_item">If the feature is pasted into a separate .prt file, a <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('roadmap/05qt_parts_35.html');return(false);">linked expression</a> is created between the files.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Instance of Original</b></p>
            <p class="para_item">With this option, both the new and the original feature will share the same variable. For example, variable p10 will be used as a feature parameter in both features.</p>
            <p class="para_item">This option is only available when the feature is pasted into the same .prt file.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">When you paste a feature, you have similar options defining how parent curves are used. With the <b class="uiTerm">Prompt for New</b> option, the software will prompt you to reselect placement faces and curves. A list of conditions is listed in the <b class="uiTerm">Paste Feature</b> dialog box to prompt you to select new curves for each condition.
      </p><a name="ndxgenid_roadmap395"></a><a name="ndxgenid_roadmap396"></a><div class="title_division">Copying groups of features</div>
      <p class="para_division">To copy multiple features, either select multiple features, or first create a <b class="uiTerm">Feature Set</b> in the <b class="uiTerm">Part Navigator</b>. Using a feature set group allows you perform operations such as copy, reorder, suppress, or delete on the set.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">To group features, shift-pick the features in the <b class="uiTerm">Part Navigator</b>, then right&ndash;click and choose <b class="uiTerm">Group</b>.
