NX allows you to specify an intersection point on curves that don't physically intersect. You might want this when the intersection lies off the end of a curve or when curves do not lie in the same plane. NX allows this type of intersection point, however, the resulting point is not associative.

The software projects the curves onto a plane that is perpendicular to the WCS and intersects them there. The software projects the resulting intersection point back onto the first selected curve or its extension. The software does not attempt to distinguish between cases where the curves intersect and when they do not. All the intersection points will be non-associative.
