To create a revolved feature use the menu <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Design Feature</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Revolve</b> or the <b class="uiTerm">Revolve</b> button in the <b class="uiTerm">Feature</b> toolbar.

      <p class="para_topic">Some differences from I-deas are:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The axis of revolution does not need to lie in the plane of the sketch.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The axis of revolution can be part of the sketch, an edge, a datum axis, or created on the fly using vector construction tools.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">An open set of curves can be revolved into a solid body using offsets, similar to the offset option on the NX <b class="uiTerm"><a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('roadmap/05qt_parts_26.html');return(false);">Extrude</a></b> command.
            </p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">The preference setting <b class="uiTerm">Preferences</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Modeling</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Body Type</b> (<b class="uiTerm">Solid</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Sheet</b>) determines whether end caps are created on the extruded feature. Set this preference to <b class="uiTerm">Sheet</b> for open part modeling. Otherwise, leave it set to <b class="uiTerm">Solid</b> to work as you do I-deas.
