      <p class="para_topic">You can define five basic types of lights in a view:</p>

               <p class="para_td">Provides global illumination for the scene. Does not cause shadows and illuminates all objects equally regardless of the orientation. You can control the intensity and color.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Located at the viewpoint or directly on the Z axis of the screen. You can control the color and intensity. Cannot cause shadows in your scene.</p>

               <p class="para_td">A light source such as the sun, which can be thought of as located infinitely far away. You can control the intensity, color, and a vector that defines the direction of the light. Can cast shadows in High Quality Images and requires the computation to determine shadowing.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Emits light equally in all directions. You can specify the location, intensity, and color. You can also set it to generate shadows in High Quality Images. The default position for point lights is in the right-hand corner of the view.</p>

               <p class="para_td">The same as the Point type, except that it is constrained by a cone shape. You can specify the location, intensity, and color. You can also set it to generate shadows in High Quality Images. The default light source position for spot lights is in the upper right corner of the view. The default target position is the center of the view.</p>

      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Create your own lights using the five basic types shown above as templates. For example, you could create several variations of distant lights, to be used for specialized lighting situations. All of the basic light types, except Ambient and Eye, can have their position defined in screen space or model space.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">  When you set a light source in model space coordinates, the light is always in the same position in the part no matter what the view rotation. When you set a light source in screen space coordinates, +X is always to the right, +Y is up, and +Z is out of the screen.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">  Positional lights (eye, point, or spotlights) require more computations to determine a shaded display than Ambient and Distant lights. Results may be slower performance using positional lights in a view.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">  Spotlights effects (especially in hardware shading), are based on the display resolution. Higher resolution will give you better results. Resolution on flat surfaces may result in no spot light effects.</p>
