      <p class="para_topic">If I-deas is accessible in the same network, you can directly access models from the I-deas data management libraries instead of creating exchange package files. </p>

      <p class="para_topic">To access models from I-deas libraries:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The I-deas user must check the items into a library.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> <em>File &rarr; Open I-deas...</em>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Open the library and select the part or assembly to import.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic">This uses the same mechanism that I-deas users would use to check parts and assemblies out of a library, except that you do not have the options such as &quot;check out&quot; and &quot;check in,&quot; available to I-deas users. Your copy of an I-deas part model is comparable to the I-deas library &quot;reference&quot; option because you can associatively update it to the latest version. Your copy of an I-deas assembly model is comparable to the I-deas library &quot;copy&quot; option.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">By default, the form will only list the latest version of items. To access an earlier version, select an item using the right mouse button (MB3).</p>
