               <p class="para_td">The system uses raytracing to calculate reflections and refractions during image generation. Turning raytracing off can greatly reduce the amount of time necessary to generate an image at the cost of some photo-realism. When raytracing is disabled, the image loses reflections from mirrored surfaces and refraction through glass, but keeps all other photorealistic effects. You can't turn raytracing off in the Preview or Raytraced rendering methods.</p>

In the case of an environment cube background, this would be directly at the front face of the environment cube. During rotations the model rotates correctly to a different viewing orientation but the environment background remains fixed. When disabled, the camera moves during a rotation and different portions of an environment cube background are seen; both the model and the background appear to move.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Radiosity is a preprocessing step to rendering an image that is used to compute the lighting contribution of indirect light in a room or environment. Indirect lighting is caused by light reflecting off diffused surfaces like walls and floors. Radiosity calculates physically accurate lighting where each surface can contribute light to other surfaces in the environment.</p>
