      </table><br><p class="para_topic">This procedure outlines the general steps to create a high quality image.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click 'High Quality Image' on the Visualize Shape toolbar or select View&rarr;Visualization&rarr;High Quality Image from the main menubar.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Determine the quality of the image by selecting a method. To use these methods, you must have the UGS licensing for High Quality Image rendering installed with NX.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Optionally set general shading parameters using the Image Preferences option on the High Quality Image dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Optionally use features such as Transparent Shadows, RayTracing, Fixed Camera Views, Radiosity Quality, Distribute Excess Light, and Use Midpoint using the Advanced Options button on the Image Preferences dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Optionally attach materials, textures, and finishes to solids and surfaces in the view you are shading using the Materials/Textures option on the Visualize Shape toolbar.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Optionally set light sources for the view using the  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('visualizing_a_part/vie_vis_lit_ov_r.html');return(false);">Lights</a> option in the Visualize Shape toolbar.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Optionally set the foreground, background, image-based lighting, and special effects with the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('visualizing_a_part/vie_vis_visfx_ov_r.html');return(false);">Visual Effects</a> option in the Visualize Shape toolbar.

            <p class="para_item">Click Start Shade to begin the image generation process.</p>
         </li>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To terminate the shade operation before it completes, click Stop or press &lt;Ctrl&gt;&lt;Shift&gt;L.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To save the image, click Save and specify a folder and filename.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To plot the image, click Plot and send it to a plotter.</p>
         </li>

      <div class="title_division">Default Settings</div>
      <p class="para_division">All steps are optional except Start Shade. If you don't perform any optional steps, the system defaults to the following settings:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The materials, textures, and light source default to standard values.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The default material is a plastic, with the same coloring as the object color.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The default light is located at the eye position.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The default texture is none, which produces a smooth surface.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">Showroom Environment Display</div>

                  <p class="para_note_body">When you disable the Showroom Environment display, the system handles reflection rendering for high quality images using a spherical environment map reflection technique. This provides consistent reflection effects between studio display mode and high quality image displays. </p>

      <div class="title_division">Old High Quality Image Reflection Rendering</div>
      <p class="para_division">To use the old high quality image reflection rendering, set the environment variable  UGII_USE_OLD_HQI_REFLECTION as follows: </p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Windows: export UGII_USE_OLD_HQI_REFLECTION = 1 </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Unix:  set UGII_USE_OLD_HQI_REFLECTION 1 </p>
         </li>
