      <p class="para_topic">You can create, edit, and view part attributes using a part's Properties pop-up menu on Windows Explorer. This allows you to create, view, modify, and delete part attributes without fully loading a part. You can also cut and copy part attributes from Windows Explorer and paste them to:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">the Attributes page in an active NX session (<b class="uiTerm">File</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Properties</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Attributes</b>)
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">another NX part</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">a text editor</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">This feature does not require an active NX session and works only for parts created in NX2 and later.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">You cannot view or edit the cached part attributes that are saved for the component in higher-level assembly parts with this method.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Creating a Part Attribute</div>
      <p class="para_division">The following procedure creates a part property using Windows Explorer.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In Windows Explorer, click MB3 on an NX .prt file.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Properties. This displays the Properties dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click on the Custom tab, displaying the Custom property page.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Name field, enter a property name.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Type field, select a property type.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Value field, enter a value for the new property.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click Apply or OK.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Editing a Part Attribute</div>
      <p class="para_division">The following procedure edits a part property using Windows Explorer.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In Windows Explorer, click MB3 on an NX .prt file.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Properties. This displays the Properties dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click on the Custom tab, displaying the Custom property page.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a property in the Properties list box.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter a new type and/or value.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click Modify.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click Apply or OK.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Deleting a Part Attribute</div>
      <p class="para_division">The following procedure deletes a part property using Windows Explorer.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In Windows Explorer, click MB3 on an NX .prt file.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Properties. This displays the Properties dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click on the Custom tab, displaying the Custom property page.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a property in the Properties list box.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click Remove.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click Apply or OK.</p>
         </li>

      <p class="para_division">Use this procedure to view part properties using Windows Explorer.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In Windows Explorer, click MB3 on an NX .prt file.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select Properties. This displays the Properties dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click on the Custom tab, displaying the Custom property page.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">When finished, click Apply or OK.</p>
