      </table><br><p class="para_topic">With <b class="uiTerm">Measure Minimum Distance (Local)</b> option, the software uses the actual pick point on the object as the start point, and the distance function returns the minimum distance closest to the pick point.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Use this option to distinguish between multiple points on an object when the selection of more than one is possible. For example, if more than one pair of points exists that are normal to both objects, the system may not produce the desired results unless you indicate a start point to use, as shown below.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Start points ensure that the system is using the correct points to calculate the distances. You should use caution when specifying start points, for if they are poorly chosen the results may not be desirable, as shown below.</p>
