      </table><br><p class="para_topic"> NX 3 modified the default color definition file (ugcolor.cdf) to reflect the browser-safe color cube model. Notably, the first fifteen indices in the default CDF are no longer set to traditional colors. </p>
      <p class="para_topic"> NX uses the default CDF to initialize the color table of each new part. The color tables of existing parts are unchanged. The new colors may conflict with traditional colors in operations that combine new and legacy parts. For example, if you add legacy component parts to a new assembly part, or if you import legacy parts into a new part, then the legacy geometry might not appear in its traditional colors when displayed in the new part. </p>
      <div class="title_division">Using Pre-NX 3 Colors</div>
      <p class="para_division"> For best color compatibility between new and legacy parts, you might prefer to continue using traditional (pre-NX 3) colors in new parts instead of the new colors. To continue using traditional colors in new parts, you can set customer defaults to enable use of the legacy color definition file and to set default colors appropriate for this file. A system administrator can set these customer defaults for all users at a site. </p>
      <p class="para_division"> The legacy color definition file (ugcolor_nx2.cdf) and a file that specifies associated default colors (ugcolor_nx2_defaults.dpv) reside in the ugii subdirectory of the NX directory structure (e.g. ${UGII_BASE_DIR}\ugii on Windows workstations).  </p>
      <p class="para_division"> To use these files, perform the following steps:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> Select File&rarr;Utilities&rarr;Customer Defaults.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> For all users at a site to share the traditional colors, in the Customer Defaults dialog, set the Defaults Level to Site.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> In the Customer Defaults dialog, select the Gateway&rarr;Visualization&rarr;Color Palette tab. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> Set the Color Definition File option using Browse to navigate to the ugcolor_nx2.cdf file.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> In the Customer Defaults dialog, click 'Manage Current Settings'.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> In the Current Settings dialog, click 'Import Defaults'.</p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item"> Using the file selection box, navigate to the ugcolor_nx2_defaults.dpv file.</p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item"> Click OK. This saves the new defaults.</p>
         </li>
