      <p class="para_topic">Use the Printer Administrator dialog to define printers for the NX plotting system to represent actual printer and plotter devices.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">When adding a printer, you must specify the model of the printer. The system provides a wide variety of pre-defined models. If the appropriate model is not listed on the Models tab of the Printer Administrator dialog, then use the Models tab to define a new model before adding the printer.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Adding and Configuring a Printer and Profile</div>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Be sure you're in the Printer tab. Click Add. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">On the Printer Setup dialog box, enter a unique name for the printer. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a printer model from the drop-down list. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the appropriate queue/device and execution options: </p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">If you select Windows/Queue, select an available local printer from the list. This printer must be available from the user's workstation. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">If you select LP/Queue, enter just the queue name. If you select LPR/Queue, enter the queue name plus the appropriate switches and parameters. On Windows use the LPR Queue to specify a remote queue that is not defined on the local workstation using UNC notation.  e.g., \\server\gueue </p>

                              <p class="para_note_body">In order for the LPR device to work, you must have TCP configured and working on Windows.  You also can use the UNC notation for  a printer device, and not have the requirement that TCP be configured.  When you setup the printer, select the device check box in the <b class="uiTerm">Print Administrator</b> and then enter your device in UNC notation

                  <p class="para_item">Alternatively, if the remote queue is on a Windows server, then you can use the <b class="uiTerm">Device</b> option.  To use this option on the <b class="uiTerm">Printers</b> tab of the <b class="uiTerm">Print Administration</b> dialog, select the printer of interest, and click <b class="uiTerm">Setup</b>.  When the <b class="uiTerm">Printer Setup</b> dialog displays, set the <b class="uiTerm">Printer</b> option to <b class="uiTerm">Device</b> and enter the UNC name of the printer.

                  <p class="para_item">Select Render File, and then Execute Program.  This renders the CGM file to a device-specific file and passes the file to another program or script. Enter the full executable path and any arguments. </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select Execute Program on Input File to execute a specified program on the CGM file.  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Optionally, specify any initialization or reset files used by the printer:  </p>
                  <ul>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item"> <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('shared_func/pr_admor_initial_fil_ov.html');return(false);">Initialization File</a> is the path and filename of a file containing esc sequences and/or device commands that are prefixed to the output file. 
                        </p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">Reset File is the path and filename of a file containing esc sequences and/or device commands appended to the output file to reset the printer. </p>
                     </li>
                  </ul>

                  <p class="para_item">Click Advanced Options to enter command-line parameters to customize the rendering process that converts a CGM input file to the plot output format (e.g. RTL, HP-GL/2, or PostScript).</p>
               </li>

                  <p class="para_item">Click OK. </p>

            <p class="para_item">Repeat this process for each printer you need to add. </p>

                        <p class="para_note_body">You can quickly create several similar printers. Once you add a printer, click Save As to give it a new name, and click Setup to modify the printer setup as required. For example, if your site has several printers of the same model, use Save As to quickly add each one. </p>

      <p class="para_division">Once you create a printer, you may modify the system profile for that printer. The system profile is the default profile that you see when you select a printer in Print. System profiles are read-only for users; you can't modify them, but you may create your own custom profiles from them. Select the printer and click System Profile. The procedure is the same as for user-defined custom profiles: </p>

            <p class="para_item">Specify the print setup and print layout </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Save the profile </p>
         </li>
