      <p class="para_topic">The NX <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('roadmap/07qt_assemblies_1.html');return(false);">Assemblies</a> application provides similar capabilities as the I-deas Assembly task.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">The Assemblies application overlays additional toolbars and commands on top of the Modeling application. It is not a separate application like in I-deas.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Assemblies can be built <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('roadmap/07qt_assemblies_12.html');return(false);">bottom up</a> by assembling existing parts, or <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('roadmap/07qt_assemblies_13.html');return(false);">top down</a> to create product structure before part models exist. Part models can be designed in the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('roadmap/07qt_assemblies_2.html');return(false);">context</a> of an assembly.

For example, the <b class="uiTerm"><a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('roadmap/07qt_assemblies_28.html');return(false);">WAVE Geometry Linker</a></b> command is included with the assembly license, but the full <b class="uiTerm">WAVE</b> product requires a separate license. The Assemblies section to follow will show how the <b class="uiTerm">WAVE Geometry Linker</b> command is similar to the I-deas Associative Copy Feature. The full <b class="uiTerm">WAVE</b> product is used to study product variations.
