      <p class="para_topic"> For curves, display tolerance specifies the distance between the mathematical curve and the straight-line segments approximating it. A large display tolerance creates fewer segments, and results in a faster part display. However, the larger the display tolerance, the coarser the curve. A small tolerance produces a smoother curve, but results in slower performance. The tolerance values are the same regardless of the units of the part.</p>

      <p class="para_division"> The following table lists three tolerance values and compares the smoothness of the displayed curve with the speed of the display.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">  The minimum curve tolerance is 1.0e-8.</p>

      <p class="para_division"> The curve tolerance setting is used in the computation of all wireframe views. Specifying an overly large value for the display tolerance may result in incorrect edge display or in missing silhouettes. If this happens, try setting a smaller value for the display tolerance to correct the image. Be aware that reducing the tolerance for some solids may result in significant performance slowdowns. </p>
      <div class="title_division">Customer Defaults</div>
      <p class="para_division"> The system saves the Curve Tolerance setting in the part file. When you create a new part, the system initializes the setting according to a customer default. </p>
