      <p class="para_topic"> This option switches the boundary type between Open or Closed. The system default is Closed. You can change the boundary type at any time during the create boundary sequence.</p>
      <p class="para_topic"> A boundary is closed when the start of the first segment and the end of the last segment exist at a common intersection point. A boundary is open when the first and last segments do not share an intersection point, although the segments may or may not cross. This is useful in machining applications for defining a tool path up to and away from a part.</p>
      <p class="para_topic"> The following figure illustrates the difference between Open and Closed boundary types.</p>

      <p class="para_topic"> Open and Closed Boundaries &mdash; Directional Cautions</p>
      <p class="para_topic"> If the first curve of an open boundary is closed, the direction along the curve is from the end point nearest the cursor position to the intersection with the next curve. If the last curve of an open boundary is closed, the direction along the curve is from the intersection with the previous curve toward the cursor position to the end point.</p>
