      </table><br><p class="para_topic"> The Super Sample option turns on a software antialiasing routine that generates the image at a higher resolution, and then averages pixels into the output image. Super sampling can improve the visible detail of an image.</p>
      <p class="para_topic"> Values for super sampling can be from 1 (the default), for no super sampling, to 5, for the maximum of 25 samples per output pixel. While super sampling can improve image quality, it also results in greater time to generate an image.</p>
      <p class="para_topic"> The following two images illustrate super sampling. The geometry consists of a sphere with a thin white grid mapped to the surface.This first image is rendered in Improved mode with super sampling turned OFF (value = 1).</p>

      <p class="para_topic"> The image above super samples at level 4, or 16 samples per pixel.</p>
      <p class="para_topic"> The super sampled image has effectively been anti-aliased, and produces more clear lines and a more averaged gray value, where otherwise the grid would have been missed.</p>
      <p class="para_topic"> Adding super sampling does increase the time necessary to create the image by a nearly linear amount, so super sampling by 4 increases rendering time by a factor of 16.</p>
