Tolerance options control the resolution of facet geometry (meshes of filled triangles) used to represent surface objects on the display. If you choose finer tolerance settings, surfaces are more accurately approximated by meshes containing more facets (triangles) of smaller size. If you choose coarser tolerance settings, surfaces are less accurately approximated by meshes containing fewer facets of larger size.

Finer tolerances yield higher display quality, but displaying a large number of small facets can increase memory consumption and reduce display performance. Choose finer tolerances when top display quality is required, but choose coarser tolerances when memory conservation or top performance is required.
