      <p class="para_topic">With the Highlight with Thick Width option, NX displays curves and edges with a thick line width while they are preselected or selected, regardless of the object line width setting.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Select the Highlight with Thick Width check box to enable this option. Highlight with Thick Width also appears on the Selection tool bar.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Highlight with Thick Width enhances the visibility of highlighted geometry, but it involves extra display processing that can degrade performance when a large assembly is displayed. Turn off the option if the NX demonstrates unsatisfactory responsiveness while a large assembly is displayed.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can use a toolbar command to toggle this option, but the command is hidden by default. In Tools &rarr; Customize, find the Highlight with Thick Width command in the Selection category, and drag the command to a toolbar. </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Highlight with Thick Width is a session attribute, so it applies to views in all parts in the session. The attribute setting is determined as follows:  </p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">  If you previously used the Selection Preferences dialog box to modify the attribute, then that setting is used. Note that the setting is saved, for each user, from session to session. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> If you have never modified the attribute, then the setting is initialized to the value specified by the UGII_HIGHLIGHT_WITH_THICK_WIDTH environment variable, if it is set. The variable can be set to TRUE or FALSE.  </p>

            <p class="para_item">If the environment variable is unset, then on UNIX workstations only, the setting is initialized to the value specified by the ugraf***.highlightWithThickWidth resource in the ugraf*** resource file, if it is set.
