         <p class="para_refCategory">Using the cleaning options given here takes processing time. Choose the smallest tolerance needed for the application. Generally, if cleaning is needed, the Default options are adequate. An uncleaned facet set can have these types of problems:

- Very narrow facets
- Slits

(A slit is a narrow gap where edges that should close topologically don't because the vertices from the different facets involved are a hair too far apart.)
Generally facets with these problems will not be created. Other problems arise from time to time, usually because of something unusual in the body, such as very short edges, very narrow faces, etc. Using the Heal Geometry command on bodies before creating the facet set should improve the results.
If an application can deal with a facet set that contains these problems, leave the cleaning options set to No, unless it is more convenient to have Rapid Prototyping command clean the facet set than to let the receiving application do it.</p><pre class="indent">

         <p class="para_refCategory">This option specifies if degeneracies are removed from the facet set before it is written to the STL file. The options Default and Value mean that the facet set is scanned to ensure that no two vertices in the same facet are closer than the specified tolerance and that no facet is narrower than the tolerance. The Default option means that the tolerance value is based on the maximum absolute coordinate value in the body. The Value option means that the tolerance value is taken from the field below.</p>
