      <p class="para_topic"> The Step option allows you to examine the interaction of a macro with NX in a detailed, line-by-line process as it is played back.</p>
      <p class="para_topic"> The Step dialog offers a number of options:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> Set the stride, or number of macro line numbers for each step length.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> Specify whether to step only to lines in the macro that are user initiated or all lines including those describing internal code for the macro.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> Display the selection point for each step in the macro. You can stop and resume the macro playback at any point, and you can quit the playback at any time.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic"> The Step dialog displays after choosing Tools&rarr;Macro&rarr;Step, and selecting a macro from the file selection dialog. While the Step dialog is active and displayed on your screen, you cannot interact with any other NX modules or options.</p>
      <p class="para_topic"> To step through a macro:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> Choose Tools&rarr;Macro&rarr;Step from the menu bar.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> Select the desired macro from the file selection dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> Set the desired Step options.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> Select the Step button repeatedly as you progress through the macro.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic"> The title banner of the Step dialog shows the name of the macro file you selected from the file selection dialog, and its total line count. The line count includes all lines in the macro, including the header, comments and blank lines.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Step Options</div>
      <div class="title_division"> Status Line</div>
      <p class="para_division"> The Step dialog shows a Status Line at the top of the dialog. Information displayed on the Status Line indicates the current state of the option. The message &quot;Waiting for Step Dialog Selection&quot; means that the dialog is waiting for your interaction.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Line Number</div>
      <p class="para_division"> The Line Number indicates the actual line in the macro that NX will execute if you select the Step button. The text of the line is also displayed.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Step to Next</div>
      <p class="para_division"> This option allows you to specify whether to step through all lines in the macro, or just lines that show user interaction. If you select User Action, only those lines in the macro that reflect user-initiated actions are included in the step. If you select Line in Macro, all lines in the macro that support the playback are included in the step. This includes instructions that are usually transparent during execution.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">    If you are currently using the Line in Macro option and you then select User Action, the Step dialog continues to execute all lines until it detects the next available User Action in the macro. You cannot terminate playback of the macro while using the Line in Macro option (the Quit button is not available when Line in Macro is active).</p>
               </div>

      </table>
      <div class="title_division"> Step Length</div>
      <p class="para_division"> Use the Step Length option to set the pace (or stride) of the step as the macro is run. Adjust the slider bar to the number of lines you want the macro to proceed before stopping for each step. Pressing the Step button causes the program to step through the macro based on the number of steps specified in the Step Length scale. Setting a high number for this option can save time when you step through the macro.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Continue to Line Number</div>
      <p class="para_division"> Rather than stepping through the macro line-by-line, you can specify that it runs until it reaches a line number that you enter in this field. You can use this option only when the Line in Macro toggle is set ON.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Display Selection Point</div>
      <p class="para_division"> Choose this option to see the position of the macro's graphic selection points. The selection points display as red asterisks (*) in the graphics window. This option can be useful to visually identify the exact position of the selection points.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Force Dialog to Front</div>
      <p class="para_division"> The Step dialog is a little different from other NX dialogs in that it is fully interactive, and may at times be covered by other windows. If this toggle is set, the dialog forces itself to the front of the screen whenever it is covered.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Step</div>
      <p class="para_division"> Choose Step to initiate playback of the macro. If a value is present in the Continue to Line Number field, the macro plays up to that line number and stops. If the Continue to Line Number field is blank, playback takes place in steps as specified by the setting of the Step Length option.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Run</div>
      <p class="para_division"> Choose Run to continuously playback the macro. The macro does not step through the playback, and the setting for the Step Length option is disregarded. To stop playback while the macro is running, select the Stop option.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Stop</div>
      <p class="para_division"> Choose Stop to temporarily halt playback of the macro. After stopping playback you can change options on the Step dialog. Choosing Run again causes the macro to resume playback from the point at which it stopped.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Quit</div>
      <p class="para_division"> Choose Quit to terminate macro playback and return interaction to NX. Before the Step dialog terminates, you are first asked to verify that you want to quit macro playback.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">    During the Step procedure, a certain amount of coordination between macro playback and NX is required, which limits the ability to terminate playback. For this reason, the Quit button is available only when the Step to Next option is set to User Action. Otherwise, the Quit button is inactive.  </p>
