      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Before you create your own role, customize the NX interface to suit your work requirements.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Start with a default Role that is closest to your needs.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Decide which applications you need and customize the toolbars and dialog boxes that you use in those applications. </p>
            <p class="para_item">Once you complete this, you can save your Role. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the <b class="uiTerm">Roles</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/roles.gif" border="0"> tab on the Resource Bar. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Right-click the background in the <b class="uiTerm">Roles</b> palette and choose <b class="uiTerm">New User Role</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Role Properties</b> dialog box, give your new Role a <b class="uiTerm">Name</b>&mdash;perhaps the name of a particular task&mdash;a <b class="uiTerm">Description</b>, and indicate the <b class="uiTerm">Applications</b> you want available for that role.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) You can add an image to be displayed with your Role name in the <b class="uiTerm">Roles</b> palette. Click <b class="uiTerm">Browse</b> and select an image. BMP and JPEG files are supported.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Select the <b class="uiTerm">Save Dialog Memory</b> check box if you want your option selections in dialog boxes to be saved with your Role.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>.

            <p class="para_item">Your New User Role will appear in the <b class="uiTerm">User</b> folder in the <b class="uiTerm">Roles</b> palette.
