      <hr noshade="true"><a name="ndxgenid_roadmap100"></a><p class="para_topic">NX model views are similar to I-deas model views. They store display information as well as the view orientation. They can be used to directly create drawing views. They can also store 3D <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('roadmap/08qt_drafting_15.html#qt_df_3d_annotation');return(false);">annotation</a> to be used in drawings.

      <p class="para_topic">The view name (1) is shown in the corner of the display.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The right&ndash;click menu includes the options:</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Orient View</b> only changes the active view orientation. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Replace View</b> makes the selected view the active view along with its display options. The name of the active view is shown in the lower left corner of the display. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To permanently store the changes to your work view, use the menu:<b class="uiTerm">View</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Operation</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Save</b></p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To create new views, use the menu:<b class="uiTerm">View</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Operation</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Save As</b></p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">The X,Y,Z axes are viewed differently by default than in I-deas. In I-deas, the X and Y vectors are assumed to be horizontal and vertical axes on a sheet of paper, with the Z axis pointing toward you. In NX, the convention is that of an airplane with X toward the left wing, Y toward the tail, and Z toward a positive altitude. In a new file in NX, a top view is used by default, looking down the Z axis. </p>
