      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The Sectioning feature allows you to create cross-section views. Using this feature, you can perform most solid sectioning functions, such as linear and angular positioning from directly within the graphics window using handles and dynamic input boxes, without the use of multiple dialog boxes.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Sectioning a part can be useful when it aids in design or analysis, such as examining the inside of a complicated part or visually previewing a cutting plane in various locations before using the Modeling Section capability.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Sectioning provides the following features:</p>
      <div class="title_division">Sectioning Types</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can section using one, two, or six planes. The <b class="uiTerm">One Plane</b> type, which is the default, clips out all geometry on one side of the plane. The <b class="uiTerm">Two Parallel Planes</b> type supports two parallel planes. The Six Plane type, or <b class="uiTerm">Box</b>, supports six clipping planes (a cube volume).
      </p><a name="manipulator"></a><div class="title_division">Section Plane Manipulation</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can manipulate sections easily by dragging, moving, and rotating handles of the Sectioning Tool, pictured below. </p>

      <p class="para_division">NX places the Sectioning Tool at the center of the currently selected clipping plane. You also can orient a plane by entering values in the XYZ section box, or moving the slider on the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('visualizing_a_part/vie_op_sec_op.html');return(false);">Sectioning Definition dialog box</a>.

      <div class="title_division">Sectioning Toggle</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can turn sectioning on or off. When sectioning is enabled, NX renders the model and honors the clipping planes, displaying only objects in the selection filter that are within the bounded volume.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Sectioning Behavior</div>
      <ul>

            <p class="para_item"> <em>Initial Settings</em> - NX initially positions the plane in the center of the model extents.

            <p class="para_item"> <em>Selection</em> - Only objects that are within the clipped volume are selectable.
            </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item"> <em>Visibility</em> - Clipping planes work on all entities in the graphics window. If you make an object visible after turning on the clipping planes, NX applies sectioning to it.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> <em>Assemblies</em> - You can load all components located within the section cube.

      <div class="title_division">Section Plane Resetting</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Sectioning Definition</b> dialog box provides a quick way to reset the clipping planes to the model extents and the WCS. Conversely, when you turn sectioning on and off, the position of the sectioning planes do not reset.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Section Capping</div>
      <p class="para_division">Sectioning supports four capping options: no capping color, a custom color, body color, or body color plus any interference with intersecting objects. The capping feature displays a useful, rendered model when more than one sectioning plane is used.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Section Plane Persistence</div>
      <p class="para_division">NX stores the clipping plane state and location in the part file.</p>
