      <p class="para_topic">Define the sketch plane using the <b class="uiTerm">Create Sketch</b> dialog box.

            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">On Plane</b> or <b class="uiTerm">On Path</b> as the type of sketch plane.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Select the sketch plane.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Define an associative horizontal or vertical reference axis for the sketch.</p>
            <p class="para_item">Horizontal and vertical are not automatically aligned with the surface definition as in I-deas.</p>
         </li>

      <p class="para_topic">In the <b class="uiTerm">Sketcher</b> toolbar, enter a new name or accept the default name to create a new sketch.

      <div class="title_division">Activating an existing sketch</div>
      <p class="para_division">There are several ways to activate an existing sketch.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select the name of the sketch in the <b class="uiTerm">Sketcher</b> toolbar.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Double-click the sketch in the graphics window or the <b class="uiTerm">Part Navigator</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Right-click the sketch in the graphics window or the sketch name in the <b class="uiTerm">Part Navigator</b> and select <b class="uiTerm">Edit</b>.
            </p>

      <p class="para_division">Use the tools in the <b class="uiTerm">Sketch Curve</b> toolbar to add curves to the sketch.

      <p class="para_division">The first button is <b class="uiTerm">Profile</b>, which allows you to sketch a connected string of lines and arcs, or single curves.
      </p>

      <p class="para_division">Other buttons provide individual tools to create lines, arcs, circles, fillets, and to trim curves.</p>

                  <p class="para_tip_body">The Sketch Task Environment has its own toolbar settings that are independent from the Modeling application. Use <b class="uiTerm">Tools</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Customize</b> while in sketch mode to control the buttons that are visible.
