      <p class="para_topic">You can also open Parasolid files in I-deas. These files may or may not be associative, depending on the system that wrote them.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">To open a Parasolid file:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose  <em>File &rarr; Unigraphics Open</em>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the type of file:  <em>Parasolid XT</em>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Use the folder button to select the (*.x_t) or (*.x_b) file to open. </p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic">The Parasolid file will have the extension (*.x_t) for a text file, or (*.x_b) for a binary file.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">If the file you import contains only Parasolid XT information without the additional tracking information used by interoperability, you will be given a warning that no associative updates will be possible. Note that Parasolid XT files transferred from Solid Edge contain the necessary tracking information so it is possible to associatively update I-deas parts from Solid Edge.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The imported part will be placed on the workbench and named. The part name will be generated from the Parasolid file name with the prefix &quot;XT_&quot; such as &quot;XT_filename.&quot; The part number will be given the same name as the Parasolid file. </p>
      <p class="para_topic">The name of the node on the history tree containing this feature will be XT_filename.</p>
