      <p class="para_topic">Controls whether hidden objects are visible when highlighted. If the option is turned on, then highlighted geometry is visible even if it is hidden by other geometry while not highlighted. If the option is turned off, then hidden geometry remains hidden while highlighted. If the object is a solid, sheet, or faceted body, or some element of a body, then only hidden edges are visible when the object is highlighted. Hidden shaded faces remain hidden while highlighted. </p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can use a toolbar command to toggle this option, but the command is hidden by default. In Tools &rarr; Customize, find the Hidden Highlight Edges command in the Selection category, and drag the command to a toolbar. </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Highlight Hidden Edges is a session attribute, so it applies to views in all parts in the session. The attribute setting is determined as follows:  </p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If you previously used the Selection Preferences dialog box to modify the attribute, then that setting is used. Note that the setting is saved, for each user, from session to session.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If you have never modified the attribute, then the setting is initialized to the value specified by the UGII_HIDDEN_GEOMETRY_HIGHLIGHT environment variable, if it is set. The variable can be set to TRUE or FALSE.  </p>

            <p class="para_item"> If the environment variable is unset, then on UNIX workstations only, the setting is initialized to the value specified by the ugraf***.hiddenGeometryHighlight resource in the ugraf*** resource file, if it is set. The resource can be set to TRUE or FALSE.   Example:  </p><pre class="indent">*ugraf***.hiddenGeometryHighlight: TRUE
