      <p class="para_topic">The I-deas part opened using interoperability is a specific type of feature in the Part Navigator. This feature is displayed in the NX Part Navigator with the I-deas icon and is named based on the original I-deas part. If a new version of the exchange package file is available, the feature can be updated, preserving any later features that were added in NX..</p>

      <p class="para_topic">A part can be updated using either a new package file or directly from an I-deas library, regardless which mechanism was used to import the part originally.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">To update an interoperability feature using an exchange package file:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose  <em>Edit &rarr; Feature &rarr; Parameters</em> (or use the Part  <em>Navigator</em>).
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Double-click on the feature name.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click  <em>Reload from Package</em>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the exchange package file.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click  <em>OK</em>.
            </p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic">To update an interoperability feature from the I-deas libraries:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose  <em>Edit &rarr; Feature &rarr; Parameters</em> (or use the Part <em> Navigator</em>).

            <p class="para_item">Double-click on the feature name.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click  <em>Reload from I-deas</em>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the library item.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic">When the new exchange file or library item is read, tracking information stored in the file is checked to make sure this is a new version of the same I-deas part. You will be given a warning if the tracking information does not match.</p>

                  <p class="para_tip_body">You may open a new file that is either a new version of the same part, or a different version of a &quot;family of parts&quot; in different files. It will help to include a version number as part of the filename, for example: &quot;Engine_Block_v1.xpk&quot;, &quot;Engine_Block_v2.xpk,&quot; etc. </p>
