      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Point Constructor</b> (also known as the <b class="uiTerm">Point</b> dialog box) is available in many NX operations, but to open it directly, you must be in the Modeling application.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">This example creates a point between the end points of the top front edge of the following part.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Point</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/toolbars/curves/curve/point.gif" border="0"> on the <b class="uiTerm">Curves</b> toolbar (or choose <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Datum/Point</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Point</b>.

            <p class="para_item">The <b class="uiTerm">Point</b> dialog box opens.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Set <b class="uiTerm">Type</b> to <b class="uiTerm">Between Two Points</b>.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Specify Point 1</b> is now active.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Specify the first point. You can specify points in many ways, including either of the following methods:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">Select a point in the graphics window, as shown in the figure below. You can set an option that helps define the point you want. Click the arrow next to <b class="uiTerm">Inferred Point</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/gateway/common/point.gif" border="0"> and select an option such as <b class="uiTerm">Quadrant Point</b>.

                  <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Point Constructor</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/gateway/common/point_constructor.gif" border="0"> to open another version of the <b class="uiTerm">Point</b> dialog box that helps you define your first point. When you finish defining the first point and click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>, NX returns you to the first <b class="uiTerm">Point</b> dialog box where you are creating a <b class="uiTerm">Between Two Points</b> point.

            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Specify Point 2</b> is now active.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Specify the second point.</p>

            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">OK</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> are now active. You can create the point now (accepting the default values), or you can specify additional options in the <b class="uiTerm">Point</b> dialog box until the point is defined the way you want.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">A preview of the point you are creating appears between the two points you specified. Its position depends on the value of <b class="uiTerm">%Location</b>. In the figure below, <b class="uiTerm">%Location</b> is 50, so the preview appears halfway between the two specified points.

            <p class="para_item">Under <b class="uiTerm">Location Between Points</b>, change <b class="uiTerm">%Location</b> if you want the point to be at a different place between your two specified points.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">In the figure below, <b class="uiTerm">%Location</b> changes to 10, so the previewed point moves closer to the first specified point.

            <p class="para_item">If you do not want the new point to be associative to its parent geometry, clear the <b class="uiTerm">Associative</b> setting's check box.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">When you finish defining the values for the new <b class="uiTerm">Between Two Points</b> point, click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b>.
            </p>
