      <p class="para_topic">In I-deas, you perform Boolean operations between parts on the workbench. The second part picked is the &ldquo;tool&rdquo; that is cut or joined to the first part.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">In NX, you perform Boolean operations between multiple bodies in the same .prt file. There can be one &ldquo;target&rdquo; body, and multiple &ldquo;tool&rdquo; bodies.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Boolean operations are found in the <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Combine Bodies</b> menu. These include the Boolean commands:

            </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item"><img align="bottom" src="graphics/icons/icon_intersect.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Intersect</b> (same as in I-deas)
            </p>
         </li>
      </ul>

                  <p class="para_note_body">There is no <b class="uiTerm">Add</b> command as in I-deas because the multiple bodies are already in the same .prt file.

      <p class="para_topic">After performing the Boolean operation, the Boolean feature will contain the tool bodies.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Use this command to import another .prt file in order to perform Boolean operations.</p>
         </li>
         <li><a name="ndxgenid_roadmap374"></a><p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">File</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Export</b></p>
            <p class="para_item">Use this command to export a body from the displayed .prt file to use it in another file.</p>
         </li>
         <li><a name="ndxgenid_roadmap375"></a><p class="para_item"><img align="bottom" src="graphics/widgets/mb3.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Make Current Feature</b></p>
            <p class="para_item">This option in the <b class="uiTerm">Part Navigator</b> is similar to &ldquo;rollback&rdquo; in I-deas. 
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">Use this option to insert features or to extract geometry.</p>
         </li>
         <li><a name="ndxgenid_roadmap376"></a><p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Insert</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Associative Copy</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Extract</b></p>
            <p class="para_item">Use this command to create a new body in the .prt file at the current feature state. This is sometimes useful when performing Boolean operations. This command is also sometimes used to keep a separate body with less details for use in assembly modeling using <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('roadmap/07qt_assemblies_8.html');return(false);">Reference Sets</a>.

                  <p class="para_note_body">NX does not handle parts with nonmanifold topology the same way I-deas does. A .prt file can contain multiple solid bodies and sheet bodies, but each body is either a closed solid or an open sheet, not both. For example, if you split a body in two, the result is two solid bodies instead of a nonmanifold partitioned volume.</p>
