      <div class="title_division"> Definition</div>
      <p class="para_division"> A  <em>layout </em>is a collection of views arranged in a user-defined manner on the screen. A layout is always named, by the system or by the user, and is saved with the part when you file it. A layout allows you to arrange up to nine views on the screen at the same time. You can then select geometry in any view in the layout.

      <div class="title_division">Predefined Layouts</div>
      <p class="para_division"> Five predefined layouts are provided. These layouts are named L1, L2, L3, L4, and L6 (there is no L5). L1 contains a single view; L2 contains two views, oriented side by side; L3 contains two views, oriented top and bottom; L4 contains four views; and L6 contains six views.</p>
      <p class="para_division"> Each predefined layout contains a series of default views. The views in the five predefined layouts can be replaced to create additional layouts.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Fit All Views</div>
      <p class="para_division"> You have the choice of having the system display the views at the scale at which they were last saved, or performing a Fit All before displaying the layout.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Current Layout</div>
      <p class="para_division"> The system displays one layout at a time in the graphics display area, and identifies the  <em>current layout</em> in the Information window when Information&rarr;Part is selected.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division"> Whenever you make changes to the views in your current layout, you should save that layout.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Saved Layout</div>
      <p class="para_division"> For example, if you open a predefined layout, make changes to the views in that layout (current layout), and then want to be able to retrieve that particular layout with the edited views at a later time, store the layout using the Save option.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Abort Display Regeneration</div>
      <p class="para_division"> Depending on the size of the part, display regeneration can sometimes take a long time to complete. If necessary, you can abort a display regeneration begun with the New, Open, Open Drawing, Regenerate, and Replace View options using the following methods:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> On UNIX, use &lt;Ctrl&gt; &lt;Shift&gt; L.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> On Windows, use the Stop button on the Work in Progress dialog.</p>
         </li>
