      <p class="para_topic">An NX part may contain up to 256 different layers. One layer may contain all objects of the part, or the part may be distributed among any or all of the layers. Each layer may contain any number of objects, limited only by the maximum number of objects allowed in the part. The purpose of this allocation scheme is to organize parts efficiently and conveniently.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Several overlays may be used to design a part, but work may be done only on the layer designated as the work layer. All other layers are precisely aligned with the work layer so that all objects can be visible.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Make any layer invisible so that the information on that layer does not appear on your display. These layers can be used to revise the model or to create new objects. You always have the option of adding or removing any layer from the display at any time. You may make any layer thework layer and make only the necessary layers for the model visible or selectable.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Every object included in the part is on a layer, and no object is on more than one layer since layers do not overlap.</p>
