            <p class="para_item">In batch mode you select objects by cycling through the entire NX part file.</p>

            <p class="para_item">In interactive mode, you select objects from the graphic window using the standard Class Selection dialogs. </p>
         </li>

      <p class="para_topic">Regardless of the actual selection method, all objects collected are filtered by the geometry mask (Change Selection Filter). Only those objects that qualify after applying the filter are added to the VDA Checker's appropriate Geometry Set.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Geometry Sets are modifiable; you can add and delete objects, or clear the whole set.</p>

               <p class="para_td">These dialogs utilize the standard NX Class Selection dialog and filters. After you complete your selection, the number of selected objects appears in the NX Status bar. The selected objects are kept as the Geometry Set of that VDA Checker class. Initially the Geometry Set is empty. If the Geometry Set is not empty from a previous selection, the set members are highlighted. You can delete an object by deselecting it in the active NX graphics window. </p>
               <p class="para_td">The same rules for a selection filter apply as described below for Change Selection Filter. When reactivating this dialog, the previous filter settings are restored. </p>
               <p class="para_td">When you leave this dialog, the selected objects are unhighlighted.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Click these buttons to open the standard NX Selection Methods dialog for the corresponding VDA Checker class (see below). The intention is to define, browse and change selection filters. </p>
               <p class="para_td">By default, only object types valid for a VDA Checker class are available. No restriction exists for colors, layers and attributes. Restrictions can be imposed by clicking one of the Type, Color, Layer or Other buttons, invoking the Select by Type, Select by Color, Select by Layer or Select by Attribute dialogs. </p>
               <p class="para_td">The filter changes are retained and become part of the current configuration, which can be saved in a configuration file. If a configuration file is loaded, the dialog restricts the selection to the filter settings of the configuration file.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">All filter settings can be stored in the configuration file, and are utilized for batch mode (see UF_MODL_ask_vda_4955_compliance). Layer visibility and selectability are not supported by these filter settings (that is, layers selected are checked during the batch run, which is different from interactive mode, where selection pays attention to selectability). Therefore, in batch mode no object can be missed by chance.</p>
